# Dance Floor Rentals (How to calculate what size Dance Floor you will need for your event)

Hello Friends!

We rent premium parquet Dance Floors for all types of events! I would like to share with you the calculation on how to figure out what size Dance Floor you will need for your event. You want to have a Dance Floor large enough to accommodate 33%-50% of the Total Expected Guests. If it were my party, I would require everyone to get up on the Dance Floor all at one time, but realistically only 33%-50% of the Guests will be on it at any one time. So, if your event is for 200 People, you would want to get a Dance Floor large enough to accommodate between 66-100 People. Use judgement on the type of guests attending to decide if you want to be closer to the 66 Person Size, or if you would like to be closer to the 100 Person Count. For this example, I want a Dance Floor large enough for 75 People Dancing at any one time. Now we need to figure out how many Square Feet we will need. You want to account for roughly 4.8 Square Feet per person. Now here is the math:

(75 People) x (4.8 SqFt Per Person) =  360 Square Feet for the Dance Floor

Now you will decide what shape you would like, whether that is closer to a Square, or more like a Rectangle. If I want a Rectangular Dance Floor, I would go with the 15’x24′ Dance Floor. This floor is exactly 360 Square Feet, of which is the Total Amount of Square Feet needed to accommodate the 75 Dancers all at one time. If I want more of a Square Dance Floor, I would go with the 18’x20′ Dance Floor. This floor is exactly 360 Square Feet as well.

Feel free to give me a call any time and I would be happy to do these calculations for you. Thank you for reading this post and I hope you found it useful!
